Production Log

The production log describes what was produced at a facility or station. It links the product ID, process step, quality, timing, and relevant process parameters.

An entry typically describes a processing step for a part at a station. A part may therefore appear multiple times in the log if it passes through several stations or undergoes a process multiple times.

The log serves as the basis for production analysis, process analysis, performance metrics, quality evaluations, and many OEE calculations.

It is important to have clear semantics for quality values. Well-established values include IO, REWORK, SCRAP, and UNKNOWN.
